Audio Books Two weeks, may be renewed three times.
Compact Discs Two weeks, may be renewed three times.
DVD’s Five days.  May not be renewed.
Genealogical Materials Not for check-out….In House Use Only.
Magazines Three weeks, may be renewed three times.
Microfilms Not for check-out….In House Use Only.
Newspapers Not for check-out….In House Use Only.

Library Services

Computers

The library offers wireless access to anyone.

Library card holders have access to sit down computer terminals to surf the Internet. One computer reserved for Genealogy research. Includes a microfilm scanner with the ability to email scans.

Computer copies are .10 per page black and white and color copies are .25 per page

Photocopies and Scanner

The Library has a photocopier and scanner available.

Copies cost 25 cents per page for regular and legal size paper. The Library strictly enforces all copyright laws.

Scanner service is free

Fax Service

The library offers fax services. The cost of sending a page is $1. The cost of receiving a page is $1.

 

Interlibrary Loan

The Library will borrow material we don’t own from other libraries. This is a method of sharing resources among libraries to supplement local collections. Library materials of all types may be requested. Bestsellers, reference books, genealogy books, entire issues of magazines or newspapers, and rare books, DVD’s, and graphic novels are generally NOT available.

Average delivery time is two weeks.

The BCPL does not charge for postage, but fees charged by the lending library are passed on to you.

The person making the request is responsible for the material received and will be billed for replacement cost if the material is lost or damaged.

Bookmobile Schedule

The bookmobile travels throughout Butler County delivering service to patrons who live in geographically remote areas, heavily populated locations such as apartment complexes and subdivisions, and nursing homes, daycares, and schools.

The bookmobile runs on a three week schedule Monday thru Thursday.

Genealogy

Butler County Public Library has an extensive collection of family genealogy books and local county history and genealogy materials for in library use. Use our database of family history resources as well as our yearbook, collections, Ancestry Library Edition, and more to track Morgantown’s history.
